ETYMOLOGY:

From the Latin foetidus, which smells, smelly, unwelcome.
Probably dedicated to the botanist Heinrich Moritz Willkomm (1821 - 1895)


NOTES:

This is the only species of Passiflora ascribed to CITES ( (Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species) because it is threatened with extinction.
