DESCRIPTION:
P. menispermifolia exists in various forms.
Nurserymen distinguish them from the region of origin and I am not aware that taxonomists have clarified or attributed correct and official names to these variants.
All green parts of the plant are densely hispid-hirsute.
The flower, very fragrant, of this Colombian form, unlike the others, has a more composed crown as it is characterized by a clear demarcation between two colours: one third of the length of the filaments, in the central part, red-brown, while the remaining, approximately 2 thirds it is white.
There are therefore no alternating bands as in other forms.
The leaves are wide, 15 x 15 cm, with a large central lobe with a pointed apex and two shorter lateral lobes.
The leaf petiole, about 3.5 cm long, bears two pairs of thin nectaries about 2 mm long.
The fruits are ovoid in shape, about 6 cm long.
