DESCRIPTION:

I also couldn’t resist creating a white flower hybrid flower. I like white, I’m thrilled. I look for it in flowers and it creates emotion.
I have always surrounded myself with passiflores of this color: P. caerulea 'Constance Eliott', P. caerulea 'Avalance', from the filaments of the crown sometimes slightly pink.
And then, the P. incarnata f. alba, of which a selection from my seed invades the garden of a friend of mine. I did everything to have, not without difficulty, the most exciting of all, the delicate, great P. incarnata 'Supernova', selected by Ethan Nielsen in the United States.  Now for me relentlessly lost.
To make P. ‘Clara Luna', I used the P. caerulea 'Constance Eliotl' as a father. Its pollen was placed on the stigmas of a Brazilian species of Paranà, P. eichleriana.
A well-matched cross: the result is a hybrid with an immaculate flower, 10 cm large and with a robust appearance.
The presence of P. eichleriana is sometimes revealed, during periods of cold, in a light pale blue ring in the crown. But it does not disturb.
The leaves, supported by a petiole of about 4 cm equipped by two symmetrical pairs of filiform glands, are normally pentalobate even if there are trilobate ones. A detail, also this that denotes the maternal origin.
The flower exceeds the 10 cm of diameter and has white petals both inside and outside. The sepals are hooked, green on the outside and equipped with a robust median fairing.
The crown of the filaments remains enclosed in the corolla and is composed of two main series. One placed horizontally with respect to the corolla, of the diameter of about 6 cm, and another, with shorter filaments (0,5 cm) leaning against the androgynoforous one.
The plant is generous in flowering and does not spare you. It always grows lively, without problems. In open ground it requires a climate not too cold, not being pollonante, and resists to short frosts up to – 8 °C.
This hybrid is definitely a valid alternative to other white flower flowers and, for this reason, is spreading and creating enthusiasm in many fans for its aesthetic characteristics and ease of cultivation..
